Learning Through the Digital World

​Welcome to my E-Portfolio my name is Thomas Robinson and here is a little about me. I have always had a love for computers, technology, and digital learning .  This all started when I was in college, back in 1996, and I found I could build computers to make money, it was building computers with 486 chips, hard drive space of 256 mb, and 16 mb ram.  This started a fascination of computers that never stopped. Granted computers were used as a tool to write papers, draw designs for engineering, and to play games, online games were not even close to being possible at this time.  Once I entered education almost 15 years later, I brought that love for computers and technology with me into the classroom.  Although a rough start, I was in a school that heavily believed in book to paper and never allowed the use of technology.  Then we got our first smartboard, and I could connect my computer to it, and I saw for the first time how important digital learning was in the classroom.   Through this I learned how to use both traditional teaching methods with technology to enrich the students learning.  It was when I did this that I saw a huge gain not only in my students scores but also in their confidence.  Over time I wanted to know more and implemented more technology in the classroom, especially after Covid hit our schools so hard.  At this point I felt it was time to learn more and began my Masters in Education ADL at Lamar University.  This website is all of the things I have and will  learn throughout my  degree at Lamar University.
